5 Second Click Test
The standard CPS test. Five seconds, one honest number.
How it works
- 01
Five seconds is the length most CPS scores you see quoted were measured over, which makes this the one to use if you want to compare yourself against anyone else.
- 02
It is the shortest window that still averages. A single mistimed click costs you around one fiftieth of your score here, against a tenth on the one second test.
- 03
Stamina does not come into it yet. Whatever rate you can open with, you can hold for five seconds, so this stays close to a pure technique measurement.
Common questions
What is a good 5 second CPS score?
Most people land between 4 and 7, which the readout calls Average to Fast. Around 8 is Very fast, 10 and above is Pro, and anything sustained past 13 usually means a butterfly or jitter technique rather than ordinary clicking.
Why is 5 seconds the standard length?
It is the shortest window that still smooths out a fumbled click, so it rewards technique without turning into an endurance test. Most click speed tests default to it, which is what makes five second scores comparable between people.
Should I quote my 5 second or my 10 second score?
Five, unless you are talking to a Minecraft PvP crowd, where ten is the convention. They measure different things: five is close to your technique, ten starts to include how long you can hold it.
